Vance's confidence in addressing the Pope's misguided theology is endearing. Seriously it is great that Pope Leo has quietly checked the arrogance of the White House administration. The Bible does not say bomb your enemies but love them. This is not a Just War.

Christian nationalism is an oxymoron – when people promote hate over love, blind aggression over open-hearted dialogue, and the flag over the cross, their agenda is to consciously offer a bleak and distorted message that bears no relationship to the Good News of Jesus Christ. They know that.

That final point is absolutely crucial.
The fact that the BBC has made serious culpable errors does not negate the point that there is a real and concerted right-wing media campaign to destroy it. Both points can be true at the same time and the campaign would not end even if the errors did.
