TIL there’s a fish that lives in the lowest depths of the Congo River that has stunted growth, no color pigment, and no eyes. And locally it’s called “mondeli bureau,” which translates to “white man in an office” LMAO

I could present my work at Cichlid Science2026. I was very glad to meet overseas researchers specializing in cichlid. It was well worth the journey all the way from Japan on my own. I hope to see everyone again in Europe or Lake Tanganyika!!! Thanks for being so kind to me.

I mistook the day of week, 3 September is Thursday.
I will take part in Cichlid Science 2026 at Antwerp University🇧🇪. My oral presentation will take place on Wednesday 3 September 12:00~. I will talk about what factors generate social variation of cooperatively breeding cichlid in N.meeli.
