Just a PSA to all fellow pagans especially hellenic polytheists like me. We may not have sins, but you have a religious obligation to uphold, defend and observe Xenia. And what ICE is doing directly goes against Zeus Xenios and this idea of hospitality.

Its such a stupid capitalist/colonialist mindset that we are somehow above the natural order and the earth which sits below our feet. It shouldn't be a constant uphill battle uprooting nature and stamping out every visage of life. We should work with nature in our construction and cities.

Apparently, on Christian album covers in the ’60s, the only thing worse than the hair was the obliviousness to the lewd double entendres.

A bold #Roman glass bowl, with quarters in blue, yellow, red, & clear, & a floral garland decoration in each section. It is a really skilled piece of ancient glasswork, & looks amazing given that it was made more than 2000 years ago! 🏺 #AncientBlueSky #Archaeology

A #Roman lead tablet from Bath (Britain), which a woman named Lovernisca hoped to use to put a curse on whomever had stolen her cape. In a world where many ordinary people went without justice, curse tablets were an option to try & get it through divine means #Archaeology #AncientBlueSky

This is a gold bulla, an amulet given to Roman boys on eight or nine days after they were born.

It was found in Herculaneum, an affluent #Roman town that was destroyed, and subsequently preserved by an eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 CE.

Furious that Chris Nolan would disregard historical accuracy in adapting The Odyssey by making a "movie" with "cameras" instead of memorizing the entire story and then going on a nationwide tour to sing it to us while tripping on ergotized barley

Tonight I was honoured to be invited to attend a World Poetry Movement Event 'Putting Out the Flames War'

We shared words about wars past and ongoing. We remembered the victims and their families

This poem by Em Berry perhaps best reflects the evening

Wind god, Izapa culture, Soconusco region, Chiapas, 200BCE-200 CE. It personifies the Wind God (a direct antecedent of later wind deities such as the Mayan god Ik' or Ehécatl of central Mexico). The mouth shows the ritual action of blowing the breath of life and the wind that brings the rain clouds.

I wish i could see how vibrant the ancient world mustve been compared to now. So much diversity of religion and culture.
Bronze disc depicting a goddess (900-700 BC), from Luristan (Lorestan), a province in Zagros mountains, western Iran. She is wearing a long pleated gown, the belt ties falling across her waist, and she is supposedly holding a veil in her hands.
