Israeli lawmaker Zvi Sukkot smashed a Palestinian memorial with a sledgehammer, footage showed soldiers guarding him at the scene, and Prime Minister Netanyahu condemned taking the law into one's hands.

<p data-end="95" data-start="18">Israeli politician Zvi Yedidia Sukkot has been filmed attempting to destroy a memorial to Palestinians killed by Israel in the occupied West Bank.</p>
<p data-end="392" data-start="245">Footage circulated online shows the Religious Zionist Party legislator swinging a sledgehammer at the structure in Madama village, south of Nablus.</p>
<p data-end="515" data-start="394">Israeli soldiers and border police stood nearby as Sukkot struck the memorial. Members of his staff also accompanied him.</p>
<p data-end="654" data-is-last-node data-is-only-node data-start="517">Earlier this month, Sukkot posted a video demanding the destruction of the memorial and similar structures in other Palestinian villages.</p>
