I'm confused by Trump's position on the AI race with China. He proclaimed with great gusto yesterday that we will not "slow down" because we need to beat China. But he also supports selling more sophisticated chips to China that help them accelerate their AI capabilities. I don't get it.

You don't have to wait for some next phase of AI. They are trying very hard to destroy the world right now.
US data centers will be use more natural gas than any country except China, Russia, Iran and the United States.
It's like we're inventing a huge new nation, just when the climate needs it least

If we held people personally and criminally liable for the "autonomous" actions of the AI systems they create and deploy, I bet the risky behavior would evaporate overnight.

And that's after Trump's EPA already approved new forever chemical pesticides and rolled back limits on them in our drinking water.
