There’s a lot of doom & gloom around how AI is affecting higher education.
To a certain extent, I get it. AI is making some things harder.
But I’ve found that AI has in some ways greatly enhanced my teaching.

I was talking with my 12-year-old yesterday about the growing concerns that AI will undercut students' critical thinking skills.
His response . . .
"It seems unfair for adults to be criticizing kids for using AI. Kids didn't build it - adults did."
Certainly made me think.

It's difficult to pick apart fears about AI & data centers that are intrinsic to the technologies vs. those that are connected to the fact that giant, fateful decisions about these things are being made by a small handful of insular brain-cooked oligarch narcissists.

For years they've been saying you can't just ignore how AI is going to change all of our work habits and lifestyles but I have kind of just ignored it and it hasn't changed them lol
