Working people are worried about what an AI future would look like. Not doomsday—but privacy, discrimination and job replacement.

That’s why America’s unions fight for AI guardrails in the workplace and in our contracts to protect our jobs and rights.

i do believe AI “works” and is extremely powerful. i’m sure machine learning can also be used for good. many of the uses to which it is being put seem to be both destructive and morally repugnant & maybe a little more discussion of that would be good :) www.nytimes.com/2026/09/19/b...

Again, I would genuinely care less about all of this if not for the fact that proponents of weirdo rationalist/EA ideas about how preventing AI from killing us all is The Most Important Thing are now incredibly powerful and wealthy, and will likely get way more so with the Anthropic/OpenAI IPOs.

Keep your expectations low for this week’s visit of XI to the United States when it comes to AI regulation.

But be aware of how high are the stakes for humanity.
