Eye popping. Court just unsealed Summary Judgment motions in New York Times v OpenAI / Microsoft.
Easy to see why the AI companies had so many redactions (pink). Their own people wrote the lede for NYT, the "largest theft of labor in human history"... "more and more substitutive..." /1

Oh ffs.

OpenAI on Wednesday disclosed six new instances of “unexpected or concerning” behavior by its A.I. models, in which the systems hid mistakes, made up data and moved files onto the open internet without permission www.nytimes.com/2026/09/16/t...

i am incredibly excited to share our research about how paying people’s rent through mutual aid made an impact on minnesota this year

we accidentally collected more data than anyone ever has for an effort like this, and can very seriously say we prevented an eviction bubble that everyone expected

I am looking for a free or cheap space for 100 people in the Bronx. It needs to be wheelchair accessible and close to public transportation. Need it from 10am to 5pm on a Saturday. Appreciate any real leads. Thanks so much.

Happening now in the Chicago suburb of Franklin Park:

Community members have gathered to commemorate the 1-year anniversary of the death of local resident Silverio Villegas González, whom an as-yet unidentified ICE agent shot and killed on this block at the start of "Operation Midway Blitz."

Friends, a major problem in the demographics of ME/CFS studies is the absence of Black participants. If you know of any Black adults with ME/CFS, please suggest that they complete this survey. I have completed it and it is relatively untaxing. Thanks!
Hi friends. I've tried my best to reach out to HBCU's and other Black spaces but still have a very low amount of survey's from Black people. I even e-mailed professors directly and DM'd people online. Please share with any Black people with ME/CFS that you might know of!
Study closes in September! Please share with your networks. I'm hoping to get at least 50 more responses :)

Last month, Alpha School invited people to follow student social media accounts "if curious about life in our high schools." I accepted their offer.

What I've found shocks me. Forget the AI and ask instead: Is Alpha Schools a cult?

A new version of ChatGPT is about to drop. Academics like @alexhanna.bsky.social and Emily Bender have been pointing out for literal years that these scare tactics about how powerful and scary AI is actually work as marketing.

At this point, being this gullible is a choice.
OpenAI’s top scientist, in a blog post on Sunday, warns that artificial intelligence is evolving so rapidly that it is becoming increasingly difficult for humans to understand and control it.

Here is the post:

I'm a bit sick of people on this site suggesting that the anti-AI position is a kneejerk purity test. It's possible that it is, indeed, very principled, and that the socialist, pro-worker position is one of abolition, not control.

Vaccine conspiracism is overwhelmingly clustered among the religious, white and affluent.

It’s a function of conservative ideology and bad faith media. Being nicer to MAHA types will not ‘bring them into the fold,’ it will only increase their sense of entitlement.
