Hurricane Polo intensified to a Category 5 off Mexico’s Pacific coast on Tuesday, prompting coastal closures and official warnings while authorities said a direct landfall was not expected.
"Polo the third [Pacific ]Category 5 hurricane of the season. There have only been three other seasons with three Category 5 hurricanes across the eastern or central Pacific: 1994, 2002, and 2018."

NOAA reconnaissance data coming out of Hurricane Polo are nothing short of spectacular and indicative of a very intense, compact, and tall hurricane.
