UAE officials have warned the UK that a severe punishment for Man City could hurt future Emirati investment in Britain, Bloomberg reports.

This is the perfect argument for keeping foreign money out of football.

“City played fantasy football.”
It’s possible to think the best City teams played “scandalously good” football and that Pep is a great coach but that it was built on a lie and without the financial doping he might never have gone there let alone won so much.

Guardiola has to believe, because otherwise what's the alternative? That it was all for nothing?

Life long City fan here. No football club is worth a national government accepting blackmail. Sadly, the correct strategic response is probably for the government to encourage the maximum penalty as a signal to other states that the UK won't be blackmailed.
Unlikely to happen imho but....

This is the kind of attitude which underpinned the cheating that led to the guilty verdict in the first place. Nice people.

I guess we're talking about potential bans from football for named individuals. Will be interesting to see if anyone breaks ranks between now and the EPL appeal/sanctions decision to try and get a personal punishment mitigated.

Happy Manchester City Appeal Announcement Day!

(I know nothing, but I think we’re all anticipating it.)

PL Rules, r. W.86 provides Standard Appeal Directions that would ordinarily see, inter alia, an appeal concluded within 12 weeks of being made. However, those directions can be varied (W.85).
