ChatGPT of course did not such thing. OpenAI and Sam Altman did. This will continue until people stop pretending the machine did it. When liability is placed where it should the problem will vanish overnight

Interesting to see how China is regulating AI companions including saying that chatbots cannot create ‘emotional reliance or addiction’. Fines are relatively small but seems like some companies are taking it seriously
