Future “projections” of massive levels of carbon removal are nothing more than a fantasy.

And a reckless one at that.
Novel carbon removal, from Direct Air Capture to enhanced rock weathering, removes just 17 minutes’ worth of our annual emissions. Yet some future climate scenarios project a 15,000-fold increase, with no clear justification for how they arrived at those numbers.

I was recently asked if we should replace the IPCC with something less flawed. My answer is that nothing else could inspire top scholars worldwide to volunteer years of their lives to produce a definitive source on the state of our climate, impacts, and solutions. We have to fund the IPCC.

European nations asked to prepare for 3C of climate warming

Good luck

My suspicion is combined disruption to food production & supply chains, building unusability with heat & flooding, increased migration etc means civilisation as we know it would collapse by 3C

There is hope in the elections taking place around the world and how they may usher in new leadership in many countries. Even with those changes, we all are in for a warm ride filled with climate shocks until we stabilize the concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

The IPCC is out of money. Our next lead author meeting has been scheduled for January 2027, but we just got word that they're delaying the decision on whether to hold the meeting because of issues with funding to support scientists from the poorest countries to attend.
