AGL made a profit of $824 million from $13,583 million revenue in the 2023-24 financial year (source: AGL annual report).
A fine of $25 million is equivalent to a worker with a gross income of $60,000 a year getting a $110 fine. Such a fine is just a business cost, not a deterrent.
