And I think that's why a lot of contemporary fantasy fails to have a genuinely interesting and engaging magic system that encourages a sense of wonder and awe that is like... Speculative Fiction's Whole Thing. It's why I think treating magic like hard sci-fi is a fool's errand that misses the point.

He’s a pain in the arse sometimes (jinx, me too) but just in a human way. I’m in awe of him. He’s such a complex mix, but he’s got conviction. He knows who he is. Same energy as A. He makes me melt.
