This. Most frontline staff I interact with are curious and often don't know much more about the process than the general public. A lot of the GIC staff I've met, though, you can tell they enjoy the power trip of gatekeeping the care. Some creepy vibes too.

Heya! We very much agree - the GIC model is what causes the problem, and far too much trans healthcare is over-specialised. We're hoping by starting conversations with individual healthboards we can make the case that many kinds of trans healthcare can be delivered at that more local level.
