Ms. Mercow - Manatee - An older neighbor Panel 1 Polly is standing by a fence and is telling Gustopher and Olivia a story. The top of a head can barely be seen behind the fence. Polly: CAREFUL! The Great Witch of Cedarhold lives here! Panel 2 Polly makes a frightening face. Polly: A kid broke her shed window so she turned him into a worm. Then she turned his parents into birds. And then- Panel 3 Before Polly can finish, the person behind the fence has made herself known. She looks over the top of the fence. Ms. Mercow: Oh my... Gustopher: THE WITCH! Olivia: RUN! Panel 4 Polly suddenly feels embarrassed about making up such a scary story and apologizes. Polly: I'm sorry, Ms. Mercow. Ms. Mercow: I always wanted to be a witch. Tell them I'll take their bones if they hurt my hydrangeas.

Panel 1 Polly has been called to the school office and she doesn't know why. She is currently in the hall worrying about why she might have been called. She's especially worried that something happened to her mom or sister. Polly: I'm fine. Anxiety: This is bad. Polly: My family is fine. Anxiety: What if they're hurt. Polly: I'm sure they're fine. Anxiety: Was Mom in an accident? Panel 2 Polly is sinking further into her anxious thoughts. She doesn't realize that a boy down the hall is looking her way with concern on his face. Polly: I just have to stop worrying. Anxiety: What if something happened. Polly: It's all fine. Anxiety: Is someone dying? Polly: I'm fine. Anxiety: It's my fault. Panel 3 Polly puts a big smile on her face and tries to force a more positive mood. She stands defiantly with her hands on her hips. Polly: EVERYTHING IS FINE! Anxiety: IT'S NOT FINE! IT'S NOT FINE! IT'S NOT FINE! IT'S NOT FINE! IT'S NOT FINE! IT'S NOT FINE! IT'S NOT FINE! IT'S NOT FINE! IT'S NOT FINE! IT'S NOT FINE! IT'S NOT FINE! IT'S NOT FINE! Panel 4 Polly sits down on the ground. She's overwhelmed by her anxious thoughts. Only one sticks out now "I'm not fine."

Problems - Gator Days
Panel 1 Polly isn't able to sleep. As much as she enjoys being in bed and wide awake, she decides to get up and move around a little. She is wearing one a shirt that says "FoRK FiGHT". This is one item of many that she has purchased from her favorite band. Polly (Thinking): If sleep is so important, why is it so hard to get? Panel 2 Polly notices that the kitchen light is on. Who dares disturb Polly's lack of slumber? Polly (Thinking): Is someone up? Panel 3 Polly looks into the kitchen and sees her mom, Penelope, at the table. She's got a steaming cup of something in a mug labelled "COMFORT JUICE". She's crying. Polly (Thinking): Is Mom crying? I never see her cry? Panel 4 Polly begins to walk away and contemplate what she just saw. Polly (Thinking): I get so caught up in my problems. I forget Mom has them too.

Panel 1 Polly and Dan are sitting in the school hallway. Polly is starting to come calm down a little after experiencing some heavy anxiety. Dan has his favorite soda next to him, Soda Flavored Soda. Polly: I was called to the school office. And it made me worry that my mom or sister got hurt. Panel 2 Polly begins to feel a little agitated with herself. Polly: Ever since my dad died, I'm scared of losing them. I never used to worry like this. Panel 3 Dan: That's rough. But I'm sure you worry because you love them. Panel 4 Dan: It sucks that realizing how much people mean to you comes with new fears.

You're Polly, right? My brother and your sister are friends. Polly: Oh... Hi. Panel 2 Dan grips his bottle of "Soda Flavored Soda" and attempts to see what the problem is. Dan: Are you okay? Polly: I'M GOOD! Don't mind me. Panel 3 Dan tries to think of what to say. Polly is also trying to think of what to say. Despite what she just said, she's a little relieved that someone showed up and distracted her from her own thoughts. Panel 4 Just in case, Dan decides to see if he can help. Dan: Do you want to talk about it? Polly: Yes.

Polly feels awkward about these hugs but also appreciates them. Penelope: I'll let you know when dinner is ready. I love you. Panel 3 Gwen and Polly are now in Polly's room and and are getting their books out of their bags. Gwen is in a cheerful mood. Gwen: Your mom is great. My parents never do that. Polly: Mom is a big hugger. It's kind of embarrassing. Panel 4 Gwen: I meant they never say "I love you." Polly: oh.

Polly and Olivia Make Dinner (Part 3) Transcript Panel 1 Penelope arrives hope after having to unexpectedly work late. She walks into the door exhausted but fully prepared to make dinner for her daughters. Penelope: GIRLS! I'm home. Polly: Mom, please don't be upset. Panel 2 Polly, Olivia, and Gwen are setting the dinner table. Olivia is holding some form of burrito and Gwen has a salad. Polly wants to get the bad news out of the way. Olivia is rapidly calculating the possible consequences for everything that has happened tonight. Gwen is feeling incredibly awkward. That kind of awkward where you know your friend might be getting into trouble but you know you won't. One of the worst types of awkward. Polly: We- I tried making dinner. I ruined a pot and made a mess. Gwen helped up make something. Panel 3 Polly: I'll clean everything. I'm sorry. Penelope (Quietly): You made dinner? Penelope is suddenly overwhelmed with emotion. Polly has shown very little interest in cooking and she would never have expected her to take on the task herself. Panel 4 Penelope sweeps Polly up into a hug. She is so happy to have such helpful daughters and that her daughters have a friend who would go out of her way to help them. Penelope: I don't deserve such wonderful daughters. Olivia: We're not grounded! Gwen is still feeling awkward but it's now a much more relaxed form of awkward.

A poster by the office has a note about "MISSING RED MARKERS" with the "RED" crossed out by red marker and replaced with the word "FART" School Faculty: Enjoy the rest of your day, Polly. Panel 2 Dan greets Polly. She looks relieved and much more relaxed. She holds in her hand a form that says "Please don't sue. We don't want to be sued so please" and the following is just random legal words. Dan: Was everything okay? Polly: Yeah, the school just had some forms my mom needs to sign. Panel 3 Polly and Dan begin walking back to class. Polly: I feel silly for being so anxious. Dan: It's normal to be anxious about the unknown. I was scared of talking to you but I'm glad I did. Panel 4 Polly turns to Dan in shock. Polly: I'M SCARY!? Dan: Uh... A little. Polly: THAT'S AWESOME! Polly is pleased that her years of cultivating an intimidating aura has finally paid off.

Panel 1 Polly arrives home from school. After the day she's had, she feels happy to see her family. Polly: MOM! OLIVIA! I'M HOME! Panel 2 Olivia runs to greet her sister. She has spent the day trying to come up with something rude to say to her sister. After several hours, she believes she has come up with the ultimate insult. Olivia: Hey stinky, how was school. Polly: Pretty good. Want a hug? Olivia: Huh? Uh... Sure. Panel 3 Sister hug! Polly gives Olivia a great big hug. Olivia is completely surprised by this action. Could this be in something to throw her off after delivering such a perfect insult? Olivia doesn't understand. Polly is just happy to see her sister safe and sound at home. Focus - Gator Days
Panel 1 Eva is sitting at a table in a library and is trying to get her homework done. She can't stop shaking. Polly notices this. Eva: ARGH! I can't focus! Polly: Something wrong, Eva? Panel 2 Eva: I keep shaking my thoughts won't stop racing. Polly has noticed a great number of empty energy drink cans and soda bottles surrounding Eva. A concering amount of these. How did she get this many into a library? Polly: All the soda and energy drinks might be involved. Panel 3 Eva takes a moment to consider her beverage consumption. She carefully looks at a can and contemplates her choices. There is also a sign in the back that says "PLEASE! DO NOT EAT THE BOOKS!". There is probably a hilarious story concerning that sign but we will not be discussing it now. Panel 4 Eva begins to start on another energy drink and Polly reaches out her hand. Eva: YOU'RE RIGHT! I NEED MORE CAFFEINE! Polly: NO!
