There was always a tacit, unspoken agreement that public sector workers, including civil servants and council officers, gave up the immediate rewards of private practice in return for a guarantee of employment and pension. It's governments that have broken that arrangement, not workers. #unison

Today, 1 April we have seen our bills going up by more than inflation, again! With Council Tax, Gas, Electricity and Water all rising it’s clear the cost of living crisis is not over. Until we put people before profit we'll have skyrocketing costs at the same time as skyrocketing profits. Without a green transition there will be no energy security. UNISON policy is for public ownership of energy and water, so that affordable service are part of a Just Transition. We need to be vigorous in campaigning for that policy. The Time For Real Change is now!
