🌱 It's time for the second flush. We don't get as many roses when they bloom again, but they're gorgeous nevertheless. This is 'Lady of Shallot' by David C. H. Austin. #bloomscrolling #garden #Zone8b

🌱 This is 'Earth Angel'. I planted her in part shade just to test how she would do. My plant isn't overly bushy, but each stem has multiple roses and buds. She gets a lot of sun in the Autumn and Winter due to her placement beneath 3 deciduous trees. #bloomscrolling #garden #Zone8b

🌱 This beauty is called 'Ebb Tide'. She is the darkest purple rose I have in my garden. She's planted in the shade, and does well despite not growing in full sun. Photo: May 25, 2024 #Zone8b #Garden

🌱 Today will be one minute longer than yesterday. It's not much, but every minute counts. BTW, this is rain soaked 'Emily Bronte' an English shrub rose by David Austin. She's a beauty from bud to bloom. Photo: June 2, 2024 #garden #Zone8b

🌱 I put raised beds in my front yard last Spring to save my backyard plants during the septic install. All of the flowers in the raised beds detracted from 'New Dawn', a climbing rose. I have moved two raised beds to the back so far. Excited to see 'New Dawn' shine this year. #garden #Zone8b

🌱 Enjoying a late morning cup of coffee with sun-faded 'Emily Brontë'. It's not easy to take a photo of an individual flower with this shrub rose. It's a mass of blooms all over the plant. #bloomscrolling #garden #Zone8b

🌱 Oh my goodness! My favorite climbing rose 'Lady of Shallot' is blooming! Today is a good day. #bloomscrolling #garden #Zone8b

🌱 'Lady of Shallot' making a showing again. She's my favorite rose, and she's still covered in blooms. The flowers are beginning to fade. Soon I will start the process of defoliating all of my roses to help prevent black spot through the rainy season. #blookscrolling #garden #Zone8b

🌱 Hopefully these self-seeded sunflowers, standing high above our 6' (182.88cm) tall fence give you a reason to smile today. #garden #Zone8b #bloomscrolling

I was too excited about my radish harvest today (all from one container on my deck) that I didn't notice the photo wasn't in focus. 🤣

The radishes were sliced paper thin on a mandoline and quick pickled. The greens are going to be wilted and eaten with dinner. Yum!

🌱 It seems like, over night, most of the #roses have exploded into bloom. This is 'The Generous Gardener'. #bloomscrolling #garden #Zone8b

🌱 One more day of the heat wave before temperatures are comfortable again. The 'Sarah Bernhardt' peony didn't seem to mind the heat. #bloomscrolling #garden #Zone8b

🌱 Things keep happening, and flowers keep blooming. This is 'Koko Loko' resting in the evening shade. #bloomscrolling #garden #Zone8b

🌱 Feeling sad that I'm enjoying the final flushes of the season. This floribunda rose is called 'Poseidon'. My phone automatically updated, and now my photos aren't true to color. Gotta figure the new camera settings out - but, IRL, this rose looks more lavender, than pink. #bloomscrolling #Zone8b

🌱 Happy #bloomscrolling. I love the muted tones of these tulips. Many of my tulips are beginning to fade, but these are going strong - possibly because they are growing in the shade. #garden #Zone8b

🌱 'The Generous Gardener' blooming in evening shade. It's currently 93°F (33.89°C). Tomorrow's temperature is expected to drop by 19°F. Looking forward to cooler temps. #bloomscrolling #garden #Zone8b

🌱 The last remaining blooming cane on the 'Peace' roses. The rest were pruned last evening. Roses come back stronger after being cut down. The question is, can we? 🇺🇲 #bloomscrolling #garden #Zone8b

🌱 The miniature roses are blooming. I enjoy their blooms, but don't know if I would add any more to my garden as they only bloom one time each year. I prefer roses that bloom in multiple flushes. I have miniature roses in red, cream, yellow and peach colors. #bloomscrolling #garden #Zone8b

🌱 This rose - it's a new rose. Unnamed. Unregistered. Yet, it's as beautiful as the roses that come from well-known brand names. Bred by Frank Gatto of Raft Island Roses in Gig Harbor, WA. Frank has been breeding roses since the 1990s. His roses are gorgeous. #bloomscrolling #garden #Zone8b

🌱 Thank you to everyone who post beautiful nature photos. I enjoy #bloomscrolling and seeing photos of nature, birds and wild animals. Your photos remind me that the earth is ultimately in control, despite the greed and hatred of mankind. This is Osteospermum growing in my front #garden. #Zone8b

🌱 The gardens seem to have transformed over night. It is beautiful today. Lupine are covered in bees. Roses are budding up and getting ready to burst into bloom. This is why I love to #garden in the Pacific Northwest. There is a lot wrong in the world today, but the flowers don't know that. #Zone8b
