Wonderful evening at Orchestra Hall. Conductor Nuno Coelho opened with Du Yun. Then on to the very gifted George Li on the concert grand fo Liszt' Concerto No1 E-flat major. Standing ovation and encore. The evening ended with Dvořák's Symphony No6 in D major.

The Orchestra's own Susie Park powered through Mexican composer Gabriela Ortiz' Altar de Cuerda. Conductor Paolo Bortolameolli acted the superhero with pieces by Venezuelan Farías and Ukrainian Prokofiev. Excellent.

Lunar New Year Celebration with guest conductor Norman Huynh (and his red sneakers) featured pianist Ying Li and pipa master Gao Hong. My favorite piece was a premiere, commissioned by MOA, by Viet Ciong entitled Across the Bridge. 2/2
