As if the dials of our world's switchboard were tampered with by an unseen operator, reality and life as we had known it... Simply ceased to be. Memories of the world we once knew were splintered into billions of winding paths, each shooting off in infinite directions like sunbeams through the holes of a broken roof. Holes in the fabric of reality known as Tears were broken into, with borders and cities being replaced or overwritten outright. Even people began to be replaced or were merged into other versions of themselves from across multiple timelines, becoming semi-ethereal but non-hostile entities called Geists. Strange people, beings and factions from other worlds emerged from these Tears as well, all of them just as confused as we were... And all of them searching for answers that may never be found. But what's done is done. The world has moved on, reshaping itself into a new order with new governments, territories, and ideologies. Autonomous city-states known as Queen Cities have risen across the globe, many with populations rivaling those of the original reality. But all the glimmering neon lights, bustling cityscapes and hope in these safe havens doesn't mean the world is entirely safe. The new world is full of hostile entities, chronomalies and seeping with hidden dangers of the old reality and of other realities. It is a harsh world out there. Stay armed, stay prepared, stay safe and make a name for yourself, wayfarer. If not to find fortune, glory or to uncover the secrets of other worlds, then to find yourself.
