Oh! I almost went past the first week of the month without reminding people that Limerick City has only ever had 2 women and Limerick County has had 0 women represent it in the Dail, ever, in over 100 years!

See!! This is why it should be Limerick Castle!
It is just silly to be named after a king whose name people can't remember!

I was in Limerick last month, which is where King Richard’s castle is located. Had the whistle stop in my head ever since.

Next time you are waking under or over Sarsfield Bridge, Limerick glance at the 1916 monument. You will see remnants of a building... a door, windows and a chimney that surfaced out of a pillar of the monument! This building was used by the operator of the swivel bridge.

I created a feed for the hashtags #treatycity #luimni #luinmí #limerickcity so hopefully we can find some more none poem Limerick related content. It is going to take a minute to populate but should pull in all those hashtags.

What if we use a Limerickism hashtag for the place? Like #Yurt
Any other suggestions? #speirgorm
Want to find posts about Limerick, the place, only to find a lot more posts asking bots to write a limerick, the poem 🤨

I'm thinking of publishing my On This Day in Limerick history research. My usual publisher thinks it is too niche but I think locals would enjoy it. What do you think?

I have written several books over the last two decades. Here is a rundown of a few of them, for those new followers who don't know what I'm about.
Some are no longer in print but available Irish libraries through the inter library loan system.
Am I working on a new one.... perhaps

The excitement in this poster for the in 1895 Garryowen festival!
At the festival there were military displays, fun fair activities (merry-go-rounds, swings etc,) pony jumping competitions, fire works on two nights, clay pigeon shooting competition among many of the sights. #treatycity

Help required to keep my wife happy.
While shopping in Ireland can you keep an eye out for this sauce. They sometimes have it in Tesco or Supervalu but it's not in the ones near us in Limerick at the moment.
