We were out getting Sushi and on the way we spied one of the rarest cars I've ever seen in the wild - a 1949 #Volkswagen Type 14A Hebmüller Cabriolet. Just 696 of these 2-seat Beetles were made from 1949 to 1953, later ones at Karmann, and fewer than 100 survive.

This Mercedes 250S “Heckflosse”doesn’t have the svelte lines of the contemporary Jaguars or Lancias, but IMHO the combination of neat proportions and elegant details make it a fascinating design.

The unusual-looking Saab Sonett III (sometimes known as the 97) occasionally appeared as a small, tantalising picture in the company's European range brochures, but really it existed because of its principal export market: the USA. This American brochure is from around 1972. #weirdcarbs
