A few kilometres before reaching our destination by the #Adriatic, and shortly after they switched the locomotives from a Bosnian #ŽFBH Class 441 to a Croatian #HŽ 1141.3 one, we made a longer stop where I could take this picture.
In the meantime, ŽFBH and ŽRS start running ŽFBH Talgo trainsets between Sarajevo and Banja Luka in 2017. Significant passenger experience improvement that lasts until 2020 when this service shuts down do to COVID.

Today I said goodbye to 3 wonderful Mávag EMUs that served HŽPP for decades. They've crossed the Sava and will hopefully have another few good years with ŽFBH 🇧🇦

Banja Luka is half way between Sarajevo and Zagreb. Obviously this service should be restored and extended to Zagreb.
But since 2020 there has been no passenger service at all *within* BiH between ŽFBH (in Federacija BiH) and ŽRS (Republika Srpska).

I wouldn't go that far. In my opinion it might be doable but it's difficult due to financial issues of HŽPP and even more of ŽRS and ŽFBH. And, as ever, there are still ongoing reservations operating trains beyond entity borders within Bosnia Hercegovina.

I understand that you don’t plan with it, because you know all the options. But 99% of the people don’t.
And you also sometimes need it, because not all platforms have all Merits data. It took a while before DB had Estonia and Latvia. Same with Euskotren. And Bosnia (ZFBH) now.
