Section 112 is used as a tool of suppression.

On April 14th 2023 after being on hunger strike for 110 days, Netiporn Sanesangkhom, AKA "Bung Thaluwang" died. The inquest of her death is still ongoing. She died fighting for bail rights, for reform of the Thai Justice system & end of political persecution via 112

อาจจะมองโลกในแง่ร้าย แต่ต่อจากนี้ไป ลองจับตาดูคดี 112 กับ 116 ที่ค้างอยู่ในชั้นสอบสวนกับชั้นอัยการด้วยก็แล้วกัน ว่าวันดีคืนดีจะมีการสั่งฟ้องใครเพิ่มเติมขึ้นมาอีกในช่วงเวลาอันใกล้นี้อีกหรือเปล่า ถ้าสถิติการสั่งฟ้องป็อปอัพขึ้นมาอย่างเห็นได้ชัด ก็นั่นแหละ

The Bangkok Criminal Court acquitted Tawan, Baipor, Bam & 4 others of charges under Sections 112 and 116. The case stemmed from a public opinion poll conducted at Siam Paragon in February 2022, which posed the question: "Do you think royal motorcades cause public inconvenience?"
