1954 International 1 1/2ton with a side dump sugar beet bed.
this is my go-to for most stuff, built up in 1-2mm layers. you can tint it with normal acrylic model paints. way cheaper and tougher than hobby water fx mediums

Repairability leans toward adding a leaf. Certainly if you might be far from a shop. Me personally, I installed the leaf springs from a 3/4ton version of my 1/2ton truck.

That's how I make rosin.
Arbor press. Hacked a hair straightener and about 1/2ton pressure per 2x2" aluminum plates. I haven't lab tested it but it works.

So here’s the #scalemodels #histscalemodels part of my feed. This is a 1:35 scale WWII 2 1/2 ton truck. GM built thousands and many were used on the Red Ball Express, the long supply line from Normandy to Patton’s rapidly advancing 3rd Army in eastern France. Will get weathering and diorama.

So here’s the #scalemodels #histscalemodels part of my feed. This is a 1:35 scale WWII 2 1/2 ton truck. GM built thousands and many were used on the Red Ball Express, the long supply line from Normandy to Patton’s rapidly advancing 3rd Army in eastern France. Will get weathering and diorama.
I do as well...my first vehicle was a 1964 1/2ton Chevy truck. Looking back, I should have kept it! Oooh...a Landrover Defender would be awesome. Whenever I'm over in the UK it's like total lust when I see them...old/new doesn't matter!

And then you factor in the modifications that get made and it becomes potentially lethal. My 1/2ton is more than big enough for non-com use, and guess what I can do that almost no one with a modern truck can? I can physically reach almost every point in my bed without climbing in 🤣🤣
