yep. And earphones are not allowed to go over 85dB(A) in the EU by default (or 100dB(A) after an on-screen warning), so lots of earphones in the EU are *capable* of louder, but factory-locked to lower when sold in the EU via software

I don’t understand why people like such loud music all the time. (Besides having hearing damage already I guess.) I’m doing a gig with a rapper and the dj tracks are at 100db from across the stage, according to my phone. It’s so loud you can’t hear the orchestra so idk why we are there!

I’d thought fireworks were getting louder but hadn’t appreciated that decibels are measured on a logarithmic scale, so an increase of 10 decibels is a hundred times louder.
Limiting fireworks to 100Db would have a huge impact, which I would support.

have been considered in this proposal, much less the inevitable noise complaints which will follow after a professional PA system gets to work putting out all those sweet, sweet sounds at ~100db or more.

A majority of papers on this all agree that infrasound CAN have physiological effects, but the sound has to be over 100db.
Every reading I have seen in all of these videos, the db levels almost never break 60... which is about the levels you'd get from rustling leaves.
