i should buy some tea again... last time i tried getting into it i was filtered by hard tapwater, but now that i have gone fully down the Asshole Rabbit Hole and have a jugful of 120ppm remineralized water at my coffee bar i could probably get some really lovely flavors out of a green tea

89% beta, 11% EC + 1.46MeV gamma.

Only 120ppm K is radioactive K-40, the half-life is over a gigayear and there isn't very much K in a banana anyway.

Not too surprising a cheap and simple gamma detector doesn't see anything.

NASA estimates that in 1924, the year of Jimmy Carter's birth, CO2 levels= just over 300 ppm. Yesterday recorded 425.53 ppm. During his lifetime, levels rose over 120ppm. From 1924-1979 when Carter installed solar panels it rose ~ 30 ppm. Meaning in the last 50, it rose 3x as much as the first 50.
The world installed 510 Gigawatts of solar in 2023, and that could never have happened if Carter hadn't invested heavily in solar research

His decision to invest in solar R&D may end up being the most impactful policy decision for the climate of all time

I guess maybe because the chart is from 2009? It shows 2C at 550ppm. But I don't think, at 430ppm today and +3 a year, (ie. 120ppm in 40y) that we have until 2066 before we see 2C global average change? Seems most sources say it's coming by midcentury or sooner.

So my HIV RNA has spiked to 120ppm because being homeless means I can't always take my fucking meds. FUCK YOU TRUMP FOR DOING THIS!!

CO₂ played no part at all in this study of 400,000 years. This is the natural world. The last interglacial period was the Eemian 130,000-114,000 years ago. It was 2 degrees warmer than today & yet CO₂ was 120ppm lower. Explain that to the IPCC.

Of course it's climate change, to ask this question so late in the day is to have ignored generations of burning of fossil fuels. In my lifetime atmospheric CO² has risen by 120ppm. We are doing this to ourselves.
