#12TB
I bought a Sandisk 2TB Extreme Portable SSD for baby photos back in January 2024 for $120. That same one is now $320.

Also in 2024 got a Seagate IronWolf 12TB drive for my NAS for $199. Now $429!

It's crazy. I went to look to expand my server, no thanks now.

There's supposedly a possibility that if he sets up a Linux machine, it might be able to read the content of that drive.

Where all his audio recordings prior to about June of 2025 were stored.

Aww, should have 12TB backed it up online, Matty.

He had the whole thing recorded on MP3,

but then one day he got overconfi(car)

dent, and he thought he could detach his 12TB external HDD (car)

without going into the little hidden menu and right-clicking to select to eject it first.

And now the only machine able to read those files (car) is

Kdybych teď prodal těch 64GB RAM, které sem ještě za levné ceny koupil do NASky, měl bych slušný balík. O těch 12TB discích ani nemluvím. 🤦‍♂️

Difference between
"It's made for a little handheld, try to squeeze in as much file size optimisation"
VS
"I mean that's their problem, should have gotten the 12TB SSD, 5090s and 64GB ram before it was so expensive! Gosh these people"

So, do any of you remember the 12TB Steam leak? Apparently, one of the games found in that leak was a prototype of a canceled Scream game from 2011. It has the same concept as Dead by Daylight even though this was 5 years before that game released. (1/2)

Two years ago I got the hardware for a RAID-mirrored 12TB storage array for all my precious files, particularly my video and music archives. I then dragged my feet ever setting up the software for it so it's sat unused, spinning.
Now in about two days an AI has set up a custom operating system […]

M2 SSDs are basically RAM so they are now exorbitant which has had a knock-on effect of allowing manufacturers to raise prices on spinning metal HDDs so now an 8TB external costs more than a 12TB external did last year.
