By Telegraph to the POST-DISPATCH PARKERSBURG, W. Va., June 22 — Amos Gordon, one of the owners of the historical Blennerhassett Island, made a discovery a day or two since. While excavating along the edge of the Ohio River, one of his workmen unearthed a solid stone-like object in the shape of a ham of solid meat. The ham was perfect in every detail, showing plainly the layers of fat and meat, skin and bone, and every indication of a well-appointed, select quarter of a thoroughbred hog, but when found was a solid piece of stone. What caused the transformation is mere conjecture, of course, but the circumstances and condition of things showed that it had lain where found for many years. Gordon has been offered an exorbitant price for his stone ham, but he refuses to part with it under any consideration. The ham with a small sign reading: This leg-of-ham-shaped natural rock formation, part of the Stahl Collection, still has Professor Stahl's original label on it that states it was found in the Blennerhassett mansion's cellar. An 1889 St. Louis Post-Dispatch newspaper article (posted above) clearly gives a different story stating that it was found along the island's riverbank. Despite its origin it remains an interesting curiosity.

As it's Nintendo's 137th birthday today, I think back to when Marti and I stayed at Marufukuro, Nintendo's former headquarters.

It really was incredible to stay there and see all the memorabilia they had.
