Its so funny this was branded as like this Revolutionary New Era for WoW with so much new lore rewritten from existing threads and new zones and ""evergreen"" mechanics and most of what you hear about the game is "yeah most WoW vanilla purists never aged past 14".

Yeah I don't really have childhood friends because I didn't have friends as a child. I have a lot of online friends from as early on as when I was 14, I've lost a lot of them over the years but it still stunlocks me when someone hits me with the lore like this

I'll be writing up a proper pinned post here soon. In the meantime, have some lore. Her parents were immigrants to Limsa, her father taught her combat with sword and lance, and her mother, gardening. Became a Limsan street rat after pirates killed her parents at 14, and eventually a pirate herself.

The Villain replacement lore in Final Fantasy 4 works but that's because by the time it happens you haven't had 10 years of foreshadowing and expectation of fighting the old and proper villian. it doesn't in 14.
