I made an entirely original practice 1730s Anneliese cosplay. Every element of this dress, including the stays and hoops and embroidery, was stitched entirely by hand and took 336 hours to complete. (Ft Talia as Erica)

Pellow’s narrative is good reading even today, and in the 1730s gave Europeans their first intimate look at the inner workings of the Moroccan empire. But he simply couldn’t readjust. Died in less than 10 years in the UK.

Reading minutes from meetings of the Society of Antiquaries in the 1720s and 1730s and so much of it is "hey guys, I found a cool rock!" "Would you look at this weird coin?" or "My cousin told me about a dead body he saw one time."

Quaker Benjamin Lay, who was 4’7”, briefly kidnapped the daughter of a prominent Virginia slaveowner in the 1730s to try and convey to him what it was like for his slaves. Though he was excommunicated from the American quakers for his tactics I still feel like this counts in their moral ledger.
