Traffic was redirected on a big detour set up on Dukes Hwy, for unknown reasons.
Arrived Tintanara RAA with 20%, charged at 175kW.
Pulled into Padthaway van park on dark, set up camp mode.

Cruisy speed-limit drive the 160 km down to Port Augusta to use the 180kW RAA charger at Caltex, getting 175kW almost all the way to 92%.
More than enough to get me the 310 km to my hotel in Adelaide arriving with 22%, so this was my only rapid charge for the day.

Cruisy speed-limit drive the 160 km down to Port Augusta to use the 180kW RAA charger at Caltex, getting 175kW almost all the way to 92%.
More than enough to get me the 310 km to my hotel in Adelaide arriving with 22%, so this was my only rapid charge for the day.

[742] MFG have added a x6 hub in Romford called Faringdon - but it joins the Blackpool Preston Road Project EV site as one of the fastest UK charging systems, both 400KW+. These are likely to deliver 175KW, theres no car capable of taking 400+ yet. Still excellent @electricfelix.bsky.social

Surely they just need to limit deployment to 175kW or something? Cars will be slower but less stupid. I was at the track yesty, cars look and sound great, just look stupid on TV.

Jag skulle alla dagar i veckan välja Skodas elbilar. Elroq eller Enyaq om du behöver större (som vi har). Nackdelen är långsam laddning (125-175kW), men vi använder bara det någon enstaka gång per år och förvånansvärt ofta är matintag det begränsande då.

The Flying J EVgos are great! You can instantly get to a bathroom, clean your windshield and pump up your tires. EVCS is also fairly nice and has an increasing number of 175kW and 350kW units.

Auch kompaktere Autos. In jeder Radnabe hast 175kW Leistung. Das ist einfach irre irgendwie. Bei insgesamt 140kg nur Motor. Dann kann man auch 800kg Akku spazieren fahren. Das macht die Effizienz nicht so viel schlechter. Zumindest Verbrenner haben sowas von verloren. Auf Ewigkeiten.

Agreed but the new iX3 does 500 miles WLTP, 400kw charging and £7k cheaper than the last model. Our old one is 230 miles 175kw.

In Frankreich fand ich die Ladesäulen bei Carrefour drive nett. Meist mindestens 4 x 175kW und noch Ebbes langsamerem drumrum - und halt immer mehr oder weniger gigantische Einkaufszentren mit Café, Bistro und allem anderen, was wir gar die nächste Etappe brauchten.

So all VW EVs are fucking shite if you live in a cold climate. Rubbish charging speeds at anything below 25 degrees Celsius and fair winds, rubbish charging speeds at anything above 15% charge, no battery pre-heating. Their claims of 175kW fast charging must entail being struck by lightning.
