We beat fascists in the 1860s, again in the 1940s, and we can do it again

Let’s go

She is appropriately pumpkin-ish as befits the season, liberally swathed in ribbon & silk fringe. It is a late 1860s/early 1870s garment from the fashion house of Mme Depret, a lesser known name in late c19th couture who nonetheless produced some sartorial delights @metmuseum.org #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

I mean, we kind of are currently in the 1860s.

Indeed! hence "have developed" not "always had"

I mean the American Wide Awake campaign of the 1860s and literally all WW1 and WW2 propaganda were not only not icky to liberals, they essentially designed the rules for political outreach.

Skipping the 1860s?

J'aime bien cette photo des années 1870 dans laquelle deux gars posent à côté de statues d'éléphants le long de la Voie des Esprits du Mausolée de l'empereur Hongwu des Ming, près de Nankin

My forebears mustered against the traitors in the 1860s and it's the least I can do to vote against traitors in the 2020s.

When I said "I like the '60s" I didn't mean the 1860s

That asshole Trump will do shit America hasn't seen since the 1860s.

I mean I think it had a lil' malfunction in the 1860s.

Another exciting announcement at Chaosium Con EU in Gdańsk! 🧵

Today we announced the forthcoming release of a new TTRPG themed about investigators in the 1860s discovering the dark truths behind folk tales and myths.

I'm donating to Colom again, in honor of my ancestor who fought to turn Mississippi blue in the 1860s

Zionsville has been Republican, at least nominally, since the 1860s. Shows how much that party has screwed the pooch

The former Junior Conservative Club on West George Street in central Glasgow. It was designed by David Bryce and was built in the 1860s.

Also feels like they should subtract an additional 4 years from the early 1860s...

1860s to 1980s lead works, currently a deceased Rite Aid, one of the most deranged Wawas, and an Applebee's

Especially considering the 1860s segment of that game, too.

2/2 Moore had worked for Morris, Marshall, Falkner & Co in the early 1860s, designing glass with Philip Webb for what would become Bradford Cathedral (pictured) and also the east window at Thursford, Norfolk, which Pevsner thought 'the most beautiful of its time in England, or indeed Europe'.

The modern state of Italy has only existed since the 1860s. It isn't the Roman empire. False equivalence.

It is a little funny that theyre fortifying the same place that Union forces seized almost immediately after the Civil War began, like they're driven by some unconscious need to redo the 1860s but This Time WE Win

For the nerds: Missouri didn't have an election, Oklahoma wasn't a state in the 1860s, West Virginia wasn't part of the Confederacy, and Kentucky wasn't actually controlled by the Confederacy, even if two refugees were in the CS Senate.

Or the 1860s

There is no future for the Republican party but further radicalization or implosion. The former leads to a period of civil unrest the likes of which we haven't seen since at least the1960s (or 1860s), but the end-state for both is the emergence of a bunch of backbiting rival conservative parties.
tbqf I think we're going to see a lot of Haleys proportional to the radicalism of any incoming dem majority, 2026 and beyond, and it is going to be a very scary test of whether or not the reactionary forces of this country can reconstitute themselves out of whatever bullshit post-Trump narrative.
