To introduce myself to Bluesky, I thought, ‘why not start with a self-portrait?’ This is Lukys Prior, the human monk version of myself who lives in the Forgotten Realms setting of D&D fame. Read on in the Alt Text for a short origin story!

Lukys Prior, Human Monk. Mustard blond and unkempt of hair, rosy of flesh, sturdy of fists, 5-foot-10-inches tall and toned. Garbed in a sky blue, open tunic, midnight blue, padded shoulder caps and waistcloth, beige linen, long breeches, and soft, cow leather bracers, girdle, elbow and knee pads, and slippers. Holstered at his waist, he carries twin oakwood tonfa; sheathed in his bracers and girdle and shoulder caps, a set of two dozen flat, iron darts, twelve each to the left and right. Lukys hails from the Twin Truths monastery, nestled in the borderlands between Amn and Tethyr, historical halfling country some 20 miles south of Lake Esmel. Several gods are worshipped at the monastery, chiefly Lathander and Selûne, but Lukys was raised in the traditions of Eldath, goddess of peace and tranquility, by his adoptive father, Bryce Chunkstew—himself a stout halfling master of the Hin Fist. Lukys’ biological parents were an utter mystery to him until completion of his monastic training at age 19, when Master Bryce gifted the fully-fledged adept with the only clue about his heritage, the signet ring of the Prior family. This recontextualized the young man’s story as a foundling brought to the Twin Truths monastery by druids, of whom Lukys believed he was born; instead, it seemed he may have been a noble heir. There was one place, Master Bryce told him, where he could find out for sure, and that place was Candlekeep, the grandest library on Faerûn’s Sword Coast. By the next tenday, after bidding thanks and farewell to his classmates and masters, Lukys had set off west to begin his search for his parents’ fate, as well as his new life as an adventurer.
