Yes! We're also way behind in terms of housing. My mom bought her 4 bedroom 3 bath 2000sqft house for about $180k when I was in middle school. Today there's only ONE listing in my city even close ($200k) and it's a studio apartment from 1968 without washer/dryer hookups. 💀

extension of their own bodies, and in my experience those folks tend to want 2000sqft and an acre lot rather than live in a big high rise in a city. So maybe they just extended those property feelings to the entire country and that's why it got weird? Hard to say but I did hate it 😂

The house next door has been on the market a month but they are asking insane price for a 2000sqft 1980s home with not a lot of work done.
