2023 Emerging Athlete of the Year, golfer Kyra van Kan, on the #gsportAwards: "The privilege of attending the red carpet really made me feel like a celebrity." We build this stage so the next generation never triumphs in the dark.
#20YearsOfgsport #gsport21
The Power of Recognition ✨ As we celebrate our 20th birthday, we are looking back at the moments that define the gsport stage. From the fairways to the red carpet, we give women in sport the visibility they deserve. Our 2023 Emerging Athlete of the Year, golfer Kyra van Kan, perfectly captured this: “The experience for me was amazing... The privilege of wearing a fancy dress and attending the red carpet really made me feel like a celebrity.” With nominations for this landmark 21st edition (our first awards was held the day we launched) closed, the focus shifts to preparing our crew for an unforgettable night. We build this stage so the next generation never triumphs in the dark. #WeBuildThisStage #20YearsOfgsport #IRecogniseHer The amazing girls and women featured across gsport pages since we began writing about them in 2006 have one thing in common - skin in the game. Their life stories, experiences and learnings are a rich source of community wealth, and there is nothing gsport likes to do more than empower those among us in need of a step up to leap over a hurdle. From our quiet beginnings in 2006 to becoming a daily home for women's sport, every step has been about building a foundation for the next generation. This June, continue to shine a spotlight on our youth and create opportunities to help them rise.
