I dont know about CA, but as a NY adoptee, the state does allow me to apply for non identifying info like medical records & ethnicity. I was going to do it but I found my biological mother through 23nMe a few years back. Found out my bday isn't my birthday and got at least her sides med history.

Actually had skin doc suggest this a couple weeks ago! For an odd hand condition that apparently signal being a carrier of something else. Too old have a kid now but apparently odds of a sick kid due to this is high enuf she said do 23nMe to find out as too expensive otherwise.

I actually found a step brother that I did not know about! I did not do 23nMe. One of my brothers did, and a cousin. Not sure why! My brother was livid! He never contacted this person. Enter me..looks exactly like my dad, the time line makes sense. I'm #8 of 9. I mean #9 of 10. I believe him! 🤔😊😳
