Well, I had these 3 lines commented out:
# set -g terminal-overrides ',xterm-256color:Tc'
# set -g default-terminal "tmux-256color"
# set -as terminal-overrides ',xterm*:sitm=\E[3m'
so i uncommented them. And now, I feel like ive been living a lie. but for how long?

I even toyed with converting VGA text mode dumps to ANSI escape sequences when I was writing a PC XT emulator. It looked good, especially the shadows (using xterm-256color also helped).
