That (the 2026 Ferrari Luce; pic 1) is not a Ferrari, not in my book anyway. Like so many new EVs, it looks like a car designed by people who like design more than they like cars. This (the 1984 Ferrari 288GTO; pic 2) is a Ferrari.

For this kind of car, at this kind of price, I would have to go for a 288GTO.

The 959 always suffered in my eyes for being too obviously related to the 911 (a fine car, obviously, but a fairly ubiquitous thing at that time).

The GTO, on the other hand...

The 288GTO is prettier, the 250 GTO is more $$$, the 550 is the one that haunts me, but I think the F40's got to be the Most Ferrari Ferrari.

In fairness, I have many, many dream cars, of which the 400 is another (i'd take a 288GTO over an F40, though).

But I do genuinely love a Mondial. Practical, absolutely archetypal 1980s Ferrari styling and I suspect a brilliant GT, if not so much a sportscar.

I respect the F40, though, weirdly, I like the 288GTO more than the F40. That said, always 959 > F40, then and now.

Not a Ferrari guy. Shopping for my new F1 driver [it's Lando or George] when LH jumps in 2025 all but proves it. And I am/was pretty hardcore LH.
