I dont remember if I ever posted this to bsky. Heres a comparison of SNES hardware between a 2chip, a 1chip, and an RGB modded New-style SNES. Neither the 1chip or 2chip have been modded. Its amazing how much clearer both the 1chip and RGB modded NSS are to the 2chip.

It's important to keep in mind that the 2CHIP can have really good pixel transitions between certain color registers, almost just as good as the 1CHIP.
It's the "slow" transitions that make this shine. Check out this pic! This is what the edge-enhancer addresses!

today has been rather shit but on the bright side i got my 1chip snes in the mail, swapped the shells, and games work much better now. ill have to see if i can sell the partially functioning 2chip, along with all the other shells of consoles im not gonna need.

Earlier I was reading about the latest update for the RetroTink 4K and how the High-pass filter might help with that issue with 2chip SNES. Played Seiken Densetsu 2 for a while and it does look a lot better. Not perfect of course, but it's bretty good if you haven't modded the console yet.

It's amazing exactly how crisp the 1chip is compared to an unmodded 2chip. The 1chip looks as good as my RGB modded New-Style SNES. There's a reason 1chips are so sought after.

Doesn't really look too bright. If anything, composite seems brighter than RGB on the 1CHIP.

Been doing some optimisation work on the Super Famicom + OSSC combo and really happy with the results I'm getting out. 4x lines is the most this console can manage but considering it's an early 2CHIP the video quality is damn good

Thats the hope! Might have a small lot of SFC's headed this way soon, plus I have a spare 2chip sitting around waiting for voultars Edge enhancer so will give that a thorough testing as well!
