This is Buddy.He & his team are trained for search/rescue after hurricanes.They have little backpacks with 2way audio/location transmitters.When they locate someone a signal is sent and rescuers communicate with survivor & know their location.

A lot of people come into this space being awed at the warm welcome and high level interaction here, but it isn't something that's going to continue if new people don't take up that practice as well.

I know it can become annoying to see it time and again, but I think the reason so many of us are banging the "please engage with us like people" pans so hard is because as the site grows, the closeknit feel of the community is diluted, and we are so afraid of LOSING it entirely.
