I realized after the fact I should have played Red or Blue, because apparently Yellow is inferior? Idk. Wasnt a fan overall. Played it on 3DSVC, but lost my team due to an SD card corruption.

with my experience in RBY 3DSVC, nintendo doesn't seem to care about if their emulation makes or breaks glitches as long as the game itself runs fine. I know that certain unknown opcodes are caught by the VC emu for use for the wireless trading function though

like wife is playing 3DSVC Crystal to complete the pokedex and move it up because of the bank news and she wasn't horribly underleveled going into the E4 because she did the daily events and trainer rematches as they came up. explore, do things in the game besides the main goal, experiment, have fun

Pokémon Crystal was next and was played on 3DSVC, which means I also no longer have the file. I was about 3/4 of the way done with Kanto.
Loved Johto as a region. Was a perfect sequel region to Kanto. Was also fun to re-explore Kanto again too.

Am I defending this price point? No not really. Hell I find it not having home support at launch fucking stupid and expect none of the events to be baked in since the 3DSVC ones didn't either.

Nintendo brought Yellow to #3DSVC when they added Red & Blue; why can't they do the same w/Crystal now that they're adding Gold and Silver?

Wish #3DSVC games (where the original GB version had Gameboy Printer functionality) had an option to output the image that would've been printed to your 3DS's cameral roll instead

iirc 3dsvc actually accepts more values to unlock sram which could also increase the Clobbering.

i do see people rag on 3dsvc for its inaccuracies but like, pokemon is such an exception. it runs fine unless you start doing things you arent supposed to. why would nintendo support hardware errata that's not supposed to ever be used like that anyway?

still havent figured out why 3dsvc pokemon games corrupt themselves so much more often than on hardware, though issues with how the emu handles sram locking and the obvious ignoring of unknown opcodes doesnt help
