Petscop I had my own custom editor for the maps but used Blender for smaller models. 3DWI is 100% modeled and rendered in Blender, there's no game engine.

Hey, what was your workflow like for making the 3D environments in Petscop and 3DWI? Do you use 3D modelling software and import them as static models, or do you have some other system that you use?

petscop making this fumble yet still beating out all this other web horror stuff is the crazy part to me. the bar to clear is "as good as petscop w/o newmaker" but seemingly nobody has been capable of it yet, because "as good as petscop" is a gigantic ask! after that they have to beat 3dwi anyway

“Movement between fiction an reality” to me seems to apply really well to the collective narrative forming of the forum users. It’s almost as if through their obsession with 3dwi, the things that they all project onto the screensaver are *becoming* real

there is something about the actions and the context of his characters, especially the abusers among them, that acts as a corruptor of reality itself. 3DWI is a haunted house webforum where reality itself bends to the abusers' whims practically, and it drives me fucking crazy

Just watched Sagan Hawkes' 3D Workers Island video and it's so refreshing to see more post-modern analysis of it. It's a disservice to limit art like 3Dwi to one face-value interpretation when works like it encourage multiple readings.

read 3dwi last night. pretty good. i want to revisit it. most talk ive seen centers around the themes of abuse in the narrative as that is front and center but imo i feel like there is something to be said about disability and perhaps chronic illness esp wrt 'worker degeneration'

After watching a review of 3DWI I noticed a curious overlap with the concept of bottling up and compartmentalizing abuse (as I've dealt with recently) and the visceral need to like. Flay oneself.
