A1 #ParkChat Me and the #404Family visited Acadia in 2017 on our #404Family4th trip (including Steamtown, Springfield Armory, Weir Farm....). It was a lot of fun, and I do want to go back to hike more and take @patred.bsky.social with me.

A6 #ParkChat I always pack water and electrolytes, plus salty snacks. I had a water shortage on a trip in the Kaymoor Miners trail, and turned around because of it. Kept in contact with my #404Family until I was back at the car.

A9 #ParkChat Not a "first" experience, but definitely an experience that could have gone very wrong. Kaymoor Miner Trail at New River Gorge. Yeah, water, heat.... I turned around and got my #404Family group chat going to let them know what was up. I made it back to the car.

We yell at them a lot, and are snarky and unforgiving when they make mistakes. But we always stayed until the bitter end. The #404Family is so disappointed in those Caps fans who left before the handshake.

Yeah, I tend to overpack water bottles, and I also try to pack collapsible ones that take up less space once they are empty. And snacks.... the go-to #404Family road trip snack is purple Doritos! #ParkChat I think we have @terpgrrl.bsky.social to thank for that.
