#45RPMS
"First single you bought with your own money. No lying!"

𓇳 I honestly have no idea. My Mom had a box 45rpms going back to her teenage years, but we kids pleaded for records of our own. I think my allowance money went to this one, though.

"Spinning Wheel" was one of the first 45rpms I ever got; I was six.

So it was #RecordStoreDay yesterday? I've been going through my 45RPMs, which I don't play any more because they're in such bad shape, and filling some playlists on YouTube. Artists that I'm finding I can't get enough of: Bob Seger, Genesis, Foreigner, Kenny Loggins. #oldster

Wait, 1985 was 40 years ago? When did that happen?

That was about the time that my brother and I discovered our parents' old turntable and bought our first 45rpms. Then played them at 33 and 78 because it was funny.

Also authoritarians were busily underestimating people they had stereotyped.

There's 2 floors worth of 45rpms. For all of August, every single one of em is 50% off.

Kinda nervous that no one is gonna know the vinyl is 45rpms until well into the album cuz the intro track has no vocals lololol (like me when I forgot to change the speed on my record player before playing it)

Double Dutch. Lite bortglömd och oväntad (får man väl säga) del Hip-Hophistoria. Har minnen från tidigt 80-tal från tv-klipp på SVT.

I feel like the Last Will and Testament LP should say somewhere more prominent that it's meant to be played at 45rpms.

"Jeez, why does this sound so different from the streaming version???" 😵‍💫

1984 was a good year to win 100 45rpms from a local radio station. I forgot how many bangers were in there.

Shortly before my tween self tuned into AM pop radio circa late-May 1970, a friend's older brother had some Elvis 45rpms that I "borrowed" & 'Heartbreak Hotel' was one of them (Casey Kasem playing it right now on #AT40 ). I still recall that feeling of awe & musical discovery when I hear it in 2026!

28 years old; record player RPM selector for the speed. You’d be surprised how many younger people now know what this is after Taylor Swift released Red (Taylor’s Version) at 45RPMs without any labeling lol.

I'm curious, what are your guys weird collections? not even just weird just in-general.
