When installing these voltage regulators you have to position them with the heat sync attached. These 1.5A 5v regs are great for the power hungry FPGA/CPLDs common these days (ie EverDrives), but needs an extra 470uF to prevent screen banding. A 1N4002 reverse biased lets stored charge escape.

The Foto 400 I bought came with the Leica-style long leader, I assume it's done that way for early Zorki/FEDs
I do have a FED-5v, was planning to shoot it with that but ultimately went with my Konica C35 because it's more compact and I can just leave it in my work backpack
