I don’t think I’ve ever seen gas be over five dollars a gallon here in Florida before. A vehicle that used to cost $32 to fill up, now is $70. It’s absolutely insane.

I hope they enjoy my decoration on their tanks.

aaannnd there it is. Feeling extremely justified in all my water-planning paranoia. I can deal with a power outage better than a loss of water, so I filled up a 5agallon Specter tank in addition to our drinking water. On a slightly lighter note, I just finished doing a #WinterStormFern threat analysis & planning with the kids. We named the bad things that could happen, listed what we could do to Prepare (purple) and React (red), and then arranged the bad things in order of likelihood.

The boxes contain the Bad Things That Could Happen. The purple sticky notes are how we Plan for the bad things; the red sticky notes are how we React to the bad things. From left to right, in descending order of likelihood, are “running out of milk”, “losing power”, “losing water”, and “Mommy gets hurt on ice”. Notably, the first red Reaction sticky under “losing power” is “scream!” (never let it be said my children aren’t fully engaged in the planning process)
