#60’s-music
One of the best behind the scenes Documentaries on Pop music you’ll ever see.

This group of L.A. session musicians were literally the sound of the 60’s & 70’s.

They were known in the industry as…

Wonderful! I was watching a documentary about the 60’s and 70’s and was struck how integral music was to the revolution against Nixon, Vietnam, and Civil Rights. Music is power.

Made a decision this morning that all my music today is gonna be from the 60’s and 70’s. I need some sanity.

Listen to the music from the 60’s and 70’.

We marched. We fought.

We didn’t back down.

Overheard someone (I'd guess in their early 20's) today say the following.

"Shit's really fucked up right now. I kinda wish I had been born in the 60's when music was cool and things were chill"

My guy, you're right, the music was cool. Now, about things being "chill".

Getting old is not fun.

BUT, a blessing of being Gen X is that we have the full range of music we were exposed to. Because we had radio, we actually listened to the music from generations before ours. It was unavoidable, not that we wanted to avoid it.

So we got all of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s,

I respectfully disagree, unless
60's music is included.

Many of whose protests songs are still relevant & being used today, 60 yrs later....

I am getting a kick out of millennials - Gen Z watching 60’s to 80’s pop rock, rock videos & concerts online and shocked at how good our classic rock music is, we grew up with amazing music, for example AC/DC, it’s nice to see a resurgence of the best music of my generation. 🤘🏻 🎸

I need a historian to tell me if there were any acts in the 60’s that gained any traction with “the war IS good, actually” music during the Vietnam era. Any proto Toby Keiths.

I can’t imagine not listening to any music made between the 60’s and 70’s from Black artists. Period but especially those two decades. So many gems. You never stop finding great music.

Good morning, friends! I love music but having grown up in the 60’s and 70’s, I think we had the best music and lyrics. My favorite song is Crystal Blue Persuasion by Tommy James and the Shondells. What is your fav?
Have a great day💙

Phenomenal late 60's instrumental soul music. This is just a great album for cocktail parties...I think. I've never actually been to one. I just drink beer. I've been to beer parties.

For International Women’s Day, I wanted to highlight Wendy Carlos, a composer that helped pioneer synth/electronic music in the 60’s/70’s and lent her talent to film scores such as A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, & Tron.

I've really been getting into niche videos of Gen-Z music producers listening to amazing albums from the 60's, 70's and 80's for the first time. It's just so innocently lovely

I graduated high school in 1990. For this year's graduates, this music is to them what 60's music was to me when I was their age. Wild.
Happy b’day to R.E.M’s classic LP “Out of Time”, released 34 years ago today.

“The guys would give me pieces of music that were so ebullient and bubblegum,” Michael Stipe said, “that I’d be like, ‘OK, I accept your challenge and I raise you — we’re going to call THIS one ‘Shiny Happy People.’” 🙏🏼

finally got around to watching No Direction Home - we definitely need 60's and 70's music NOW - current music just can't cut it in these times.

Music has power. Dip back into the 60’s and 70’s for more antiestablishment songs.
