Kids are directly certified for free school meals if their household participates in SNAP, but the budget bill will make it harder to sign-up and fund these programs.

Tell our Senators the budget bill's cuts to SNAP are cuts to school meals:

Consent agreements are one of our most effective tools against police misconduct.

Tell our reps that it’s common sense for police departments receiving our federal tax dollars to be subject to independent oversight:

Okayyyy Pennsylvania, action item time.

I called Fetterman (ugh, that fuckin guy) about this and left a message (215) 241-1090.

I called McCormick and the Philadelphia & Harrisburg numbers on the website were not in service LOL. The DC number worked. 202-224-6324 Christ almighty.
Call your reps (find their numbers at reps.fyi). Say: "I'm a constituent, I'm calling because I just heard that NIH funding is going to hurt research and hospitals here in Ohio and I oppose this. What is [rep] going to do about it?"
NIH funding to Ohio supports billions of dollars of economic activity AND helps to ensure we have two of the nation’s top children’s hospitals.

Even if you don’t care about academic researchers, you should care about this! 🚨

SNAP benefits are positively correlated with increased check-ups for young children, better mental health for kids and lower risks of child abuse among participants.

Tell our Senators that protecting kids means no to SNAP cuts:

PA folks: grit your teeth and call (202) 224-6324 to remind McCormick how many vaccine companies are based in our state
This is the rare occasion where I’m able to find some common ground with the Wall Street Journal editorial board. I just left another voice message with my senators to express my concerns about RFKJ. Especially if you are calling Republican senators, it might be worth mentioning this editorial.
Opinion | Why RFK Jr. Is Dangerous to Public Health
He’s made millions from referring clients to trial lawyers, and he advocates mass tort litigation that would ruin the vaccine industry.

If the Budget passes, PA will have to cut "optional" Medicaid benefits. Likely cuts are:
-Home Based Services for Seniors
-Dental Services
-Optometry
-Hospice

Call McCormick and Fitzpatrick to urge NO votes:

Fitzpatrick 202-225-4276

Fitzpatrick is bragging that his tax bill will raise the child tax credit, but it does so by excluding about 7.5 million children from claiming it than currently can. Let our Senators know that all our PA children deserve to benefit from the credit:

Medicaid cuts in the tax bill lead to health provider cost shifting that raises the premiums on private insurance. Less of our community will be insured and those that are have higher costs. Tell our Senators to vote against making care more expensive:

Yes, the tax bill will lower taxes, but will shrink our income by more – per person income is projected to shrink $4,400 compared with an avg tax cut of $2,400. Tell McCormick and Fitzpatrick this bill does not pay off:

I attended a town hall last night for Sen McCormick (PA, R), who said he very much supports basic science funding and thinks the NIH budget should not but cut, but rather increase.

He’d be very open to this argument so give him a call! 202-224-6324
Maybe other representatives feel the same!
The good news is, in the first Trump administration. He also tried to 50% cut and Congress said no right to your representatives and call them, especially in swing states.
