In case you were wondering:

Photos before 2025 were shot on a Canon 7D running Magic Lantern. Photos 2025 and going forward, Canon 6DmkII. No AF, fully manual - many through vintage glass with the aid of adapters.

Took these a few years ago during a snowstorm here on Lake Erie. Some of my favorite shots. Canon 6DMKII with Canon 40mm F2.8

Any tips for photographing birds in flight? 🥲 🪶
The only focus tracking option I have is with live view and it’s slow as f*ck.
So I try manually but it’s hard 😭
My old nikon (12 yo) have focus tracking in the visor but not my 6dmkii, am I dumb for not finding it or?😭 I’m at this 🤏🏻 to buy a R7

Canon 6DmkII running Magic Lantern firmware for the programmable intervalometer. Set up the shot, set the exposure and focus to infinity, and let it rip.

20-30 second exposures (depending on how much of Milwaukee was in the frame) at ISO 100. f/5.6

Lens is a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L II.

Northern Utah experienced a series of wet monsoon storms at the end of August and the beginning of September. The storms produced epic amounts of Lightning for Utah.

My first was a Canon Powershot G2 (left, pic from the internet) I stole from my dad when I was 10
After a few years I got a "real" dslr, a 1100D, then a 6DMKII, and after a short mistake of owning a sony a7II, I'm now proudly shooting with a EOS R6, seen here frotting with a friend's a7R

I feel like I'm missing something.. the A6400's dynamic range seems pretty poor compared to the Panasonic G7/G85 (and my Ursa ofc) and Canon 6DMKII - struggling to get even face lighting w/o hot spots, and my monitors are blown out.
